My mother always remark..."good, eat the stinky vegetables!" LOL and I used to think, yuck, they really are stinky. The "stinky" vegetables are the ones known as cruiciferous vegetables and they are in season right now. These vegetables include broccoli, cauliflower, kale, and brussel sprouts. These vegetables are full of fiber, vitamins, minerals and contain phytochemicals that reduce the risk of cancer and heart disease. You can find many recipes on the internet that can make these vegetables delicious. The best part of these vegetables is that they support phase 2 of detoxification. This phase helps to get rid of the dangerous byproducts of phase 1 of detoxification which takes place when the body breaks down foods and things put into the body. (Phase 1 creates a very toxic substance in the body and if phase 2 is not working properly, you will not be able to get rid of the byproduct which leads to ill health and faster aging). Phase 1 and phase 2 must both be working properly for your body to detoxify. Need more information on this? Contact me. I love to pair proper nutrition with exercise (sweat is another way your body detoxifies) and the Full-Spectrum Far In-fared Sauna. Now is the season to try new things. So pull up some recipes and get creative with the fall vegetables! To they are a great addition to any meal.
